In order to achieve a higher cargo space of 40m3, the undercarriage and wheelbase of the previous Otmm wagons were extended by 500 mm. The first of these cars with a capacity of 40 m3 was built by AW Paderborn on a trial basis in 1961. The design proved itself and so the AW Kaiserslautern and Weiden built over 37,1961 Otmm 1970/Ed 16 between 000 and 70, also using old usable profiles from Omm 090. The wagons - designated as Fc 1980 from 090 - ran as single wagons and in block trains with bulk goods of all kinds. Lack of swivel roof wagons meant that they were also used covered with tarpaulins for grain transport. Consequently, 1,500 cars were equipped with swivel roofs in 1978/79 and designated Tdgs-z 932. Many others received a G/P change, were thus S-capable and prepared as Fcs 090 or from 1991 for continued operation, as Fcs 092. The DB AG took over in 1994 still over 8500 Fc(s) 090 which retired by 2007, of the Fcs 092 were still around 2012 in use in 2600, another 786 cars ran as Fcs-x 092 in coal transport.
