The turning point of 1989/90 had a strong impact on the last 400 Robur vehicles produced. The vehicles were now equipped with an air-cooled four-cylinder Deutz diesel engine. Nevertheless, the otherwise technically outdated Robur can only boast a low purchase price compared to the Mercedes, VW or Iveco trucks in the five-ton class that are established in the West. In addition, the new Deutz F 4 L 912 F engine with a displacement of 4.1 liters and 73 hp only worsens the profitability and, with its weak acceleration, does not allow the Robur to move adequately from the spot. Especially when the 5.5 ton truck is loaded, it only gets up to speed slowly and at the meager speed of 83 km/h interested customers are not to be enthusiastic.
