PROTOTYPE:
A striking building directly on the border between Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg is this unified structure from the 1950s. From here, the barriers, as well as switches and signals were set - all mechanically until 2005! The switchboard in Sontheim an der Brenz is one of the last ones to do its job. Only in 2005 it went out of operation and was then unfortunately thoroughly dismantled by a bahnigenen disposal team. What remains is the empty shell at the barrier. The future of the building is thus uncertain. Perhaps this building with its shapely architecture has a future on your railway or maybe even in your display case.
