The side tipper wagons – exact designation single-dump tipper wagons – of the Fa-u type are used by the Rhaetian Railway mainly in construction train service, mainly to transport ballast and distribute it on the track construction sites. Characteristic of these wagons is the side unloading flap, which can be opened upwards. This allows the load to be unloaded directly to the side of the track. Of the wagons built in 1991, the RhB has 10 in stock, the 10.44 m long and 21 tonne wagons can load 22 m³ or 34 tonnes.
