Model: A digital sound module creates an authentic background sound of the three-cylinder express train locomotive. Pure model train delight: During the coal shovelling the illuminated fire box flickers.
Prototype: starting in 1937 55 fully cladded units of the series 01.10 were put into service. The locomotives weighted 196 tons and developed a power output of 2.120 HP and a top speed of 140 km/ h. Most impressive was the diameter of the driving wheels with 2.000 mm. To reduce the running resistance the vehicles were equipped with an aero dynamic streamlining that came down to only 400 mm above the upper edge of the tracks. With that measure the power output could be improved by 48% when the train reached a speed of 140 km/ h. On the 31st May 1975 the last machines of the series, which in part had prompted monthly achievements of more than 25.000 km and a total kilometer accomplishment of clearly more then 3,5 million km, were decommissioned with the great participation of the friends of the railway. Some of these proud locomotives are preserved in museums for future generations. Sometimes they are still used in front of special trains.
