The LRB08 has 8 outputs to which eight track sections to be monitored are connected. The microprocessor working in the LRB08 queries the inputs cyclically. If a current flow into the connected track section is detected, this is reported to the LZ100/LZV100/LZV200 during the next query. If the track becomes free again (there is no more current), this change is also communicated. The 8 signal inputs have an adjustable delay time. This works as follows:
If an occupancy status is detected, this information is immediately transmitted to the control center. If the track section becomes free again, this is only transmitted to the control center after the set delay has expired.
The graphic (click to enlarge) first shows the relatively complex wiring with LB101 and LR101. The following picture shows the much simpler wiring with LRB08.
A locomotive enters a section of track, so the "busy state" is reported directly to the control center. If the locomotive leaves the section again, it takes the set delay time until the "free state" is reported to the control center. If the current flow is briefly interrupted during the exit, e.g. due to poor wheel-rail contact, this supposed "free" state is not immediately reported to the control center, but only the delay time is started.
If a current flow occurs again before the delay time expires, it remains "busy". Only when the current flow is permanently eliminated for the duration of the delay time is the relevant section reported to the control panel as "free".
The delay time can be set in a range of 10msec to 2.55sec in steps of 10msec. The factory setting is 500msec. The maximum load capacity of the outputs is 4A each, the total load capacity (current flow at all outputs) must not exceed 5A.
LR100, LR101 and LRB08 can be used together.
