The Mercedes-Benz -/8 was first presented to customers in 1968, where the -/8 stands for the presentation year. This saloon with very modern styling superseded the tail-fin model of the Mercedes-Benz range on sale since 1959. As a 200-series model, the vehicle produced 95 PS and reached a top speed of 165 km/h. Up until production was discontinued in 1976, more than 1.8 million of the -/8 vehicles were produced.
