After the war, the Austrian Federal Railway had 17 VS145 vehicles in its possession and used 14 of them under the new fleet number 7758.00 - 14. However, the push/pull equipment was missing. The other three vehicles bearing the ES 6258.01 - 03 designation were converted to become control cars for the electric railcars. The trailer cars were discontinued at the start of the 1980s and the control cars were discontinued a good ten years prior to this.
