Since the first of January, 2021, the RAlpin-Rollende Autobahn (Rolling Highway) Freiburg im Breisgau to Novara Boschetto has been hauled using class 186 locomotives. The 186 909 owned by the SBB is the only locomotive to bear the striking Nightpiercer design which sets it apart from the other engines.
