Thunderboxes - the role model

The Thunderboxes owe their name to the fact that an all-metal construction was used for the first time in these cars. Before that, the car bodies had always been made of wood. The metal construction resulted in a much higher noise level, which earned them the name blunderbuss. Development and production started in the 1920s.

In addition to the Lenz-typical standard equipment, the Thunderboxes have:

• Constant interior lighting, switchable in digital mode
• Platform lighting in digital operation can be switched separately from the interior lighting

The Lenz Spur 0 passenger cars are as true to the original as possible and have, among other things:

• metal wheel sets
• Constant, flicker-free interior lighting, switchable in digital mode
• Current collection in the axle bearings, therefore no influence on the running properties
