Although the SBB had taken over largenumbers of the American four-axle coachesand the coaches had proven theirworth in service, when ordering new vehiclesit was decided to use a three-axledesign. After some time, the long coachbody showed a high level of warping anddeformation. The reason for this was thevery poor running properties of theprimitivebogies without secondarysuspension.Nevertheless, some remainedin service until 1941 and trainsformed solely with four-axle coaches ofthe same class still travelled betweenWinterthur and Wil in 1930.
