Equipment of all Lenz track 0 locomotives and traction units

All Track 0 locomotives from Lenz set standards in equipment, functionality and original fidelity and have unique options:

  • Mixed construction metal/plastic
  • High-performance motor
  • remote-operated, automatic coupling
  • Constant light
  • direction-dependent light change
  • Spring buffer
  • Metal wheelsets
  • Track wreath height smaller than 1.2 mm
  • Automatic detection of Lenz-Digital (DCC) or conventional DC voltage operation (analog)

BR 38 / P8 - the model

The passenger train locomotive introduced as a Prussian P8 of the class 35.17 later became 38.10-40 and is the model for the track 0 model.
After hot steam engines had already proven to be maintenance-friendly and efficient in the G 8, the P 8 with its economical twin hot steam engine formed a constructive milestone in the construction of passenger train locomotives. With a wheelbase (incl. Tender 2'2'T 21.5) of less than 16 meters, the P 8 also fit on small turntables. In contrast to the predecessor P 6, the P 8 ran forward 100 km/h and backwards 50 km/h, in the later reversing train traffic at the DB with tub tender and closed cab even 85 km/h backwards.

BR 38 / P8 - the model

This locomotive model also impresses with its rich equipment and - like all Lenz locomotives - with the faithful detailed presentation. In addition to the standard equipment:

  • Decoder with USP and energy storage as well as numerous functions and sound already integrated
  • appropriate locomotive-tender-distance (please read instructions!)
  • Original sound
  • Steam
  • The locomotive has a minimum radius of 914 mm (Lenz R1)
  • Spring buffer
  • Chassis Metal
  • Noiseless motor control enables smooth, jerk-free running and particularly good slow-moving characteristics
  • The speed of the motor is determined by an angle magnetic sensor mounted on the motor axis
  • On both sides of the locomotive is the automatic, remotely operated Lenz coupling with short coupling backdrop in digital operation
  • The locomotive has constantly bright peak light at the front and rear, the lamps are equipped with maintenance-free LEDs, the light changes depending on the direction of travel
  • In digital mode, the peak light can be switched on and off separately at the front and rear, the brightness can be adjusted separately from other lighting
  • The cab lighting can be switched separately from the peak light, the brightness can be adjusted separately from other lighting
  • The shunting aisle reduces the speed of the locomotive by about half, so shunting movements can be carried out particularly sensitively; Shunting light means that both the front and rear (white) lamps are switched on regardless of the direction of travel

The newly developed locomotive-tender coupling

With this coupling mimic, the radius R1 (914 mm) can also be used at a suitable distance between the locomotive and the tender. This video (the BR 50) shows how locomotive and tender are connected and separated.

With this model you can look forward to many variants: of course there will be the DB version with box tender 2'2T 30 as well as a DB version with tub tender, but also a DR variant with box tender, large wind guide plates and central shutter smoke chamber door. The legendary P 8 in DRG version comes as a special series. All locomotives with the new locomotive-tender coupling, fantastic original sound and wheel-synchronous steam output.
