The Rüttgerswerke works cars were large tank cars, construction type Krupp which were developed from 1922.
After World War I, there were plans to used larger freight trains to reduce the empty weight and length of the train. A decision was made for a two-axle car with four wheel-sets - a construction form between two-axles and today's four-axles with bogies. Some of these cars were still in use at the Rüttger works in the seventies.
