After 1945, only the VT 137 021 from the first delivery series remained at DB. This vehicle was renamed as the VT 65 916 and again as the VT 62 905 at a later date. Furthermore, the VT 137 008 came from Austria in 1947, which was then called the VT 65 917 or VT 62 906. From the railcars with the 210 HP system, DB only renamed the VT 137 127 into the VT 62 902 whilst the VT 137 121 was discontinued due to damage. DB utilised the VT 62 902, initially starting from Bielefeld or Hamburg. With the refurbishment of the VT 62 905 and 906, all three were initially moved together in Bremen. From 1952, they were utilised from Braunschweig. In addition to the railcars, there were also three VB 147 vehicles in Braunschweig that also originated in Bremen. During their daily operations, the VT 62.9 travelled to places including Lüneburg, Goslar and Altenau (Harz). The end for all three VTs at Braunschweig Central Station railway depot came between 1957 and 1958. The trailer cars remained in service with other railcars up until 1962. The last of the eleven VB 147 vehicles was only discontinued at the start of the 1970s.
