Prototype: Class 218 diesel locomotive in a fictitious black basic paint scheme. Road number 218 202-5. The locomotive looks as it did fictitiously in 2025
Model: The locomotive has an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound functions. It also has controlled high-efficiency propulsion with a flywheel, centrally mounted. All four axles powered. Traction tires. Triple headlights and dual red marker lights change over with the direction of travel, will work in conventional operation, and can be controlled digitally. The headlights at Locomotive Ends 2 and 1 can be turned off separately in digital operation. There is the Double "A" Light function. The long-distance headlights can be controlled digitally. The cab lighting changes over with the direction of travel. The engine room lighting and the cab lighting can be controlled digitally. Maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs are used for the lighting. The locomotive has a buffer capacitor. There are separately applied metal grab irons on the sides and ends of the locomotive. The buffer beams are detailed and include snowplows typical for this class. The buffer height conforms to the NEM. The locomotive has close couplers with guide mechanisms. Brake hoses, prototype couplers, and closed snowplows are included for installation on the locomotive. Length over the buffers 18.9 cm / 7-7/16".
An articulated pocket car to go with this locomotive can be found in the Märklin H0 assortment under item number 47478, also exclusively for the Märklin Stores. Additional container transport cars from recent years have appeared under item numbers 47812, 47133, 47165, 47690, 47583, and 47584 exclusively for the Märklin Stores.
