The role model
Express train passenger cars of usage group 29 of the DB, built from 1928 to 1931. In contrast to their predecessors, the cars had recessed, straight entrances, so-called pike cars because of the tapered ends with sloping entrances. Thanks to the high dead weight of the all-steel wagons and the "Görlitz II heavy" type bogies, the wagons were characterized by their extremely smooth running.
