Opel presented the first 'Kadett' to the public as early as 1936. It was not until 1962 that the second Kadett series from Rüsselsheim appeared, the Kadett A. This in turn was replaced by the Kadett B as early as 1965. Like its predecessors, the B-Kadett was equipped with a longitudinally mounted front engine and rear-wheel drive. Until it was replaced in 1973, a total of more than 2.7 million B-Kadetts were delivered to a satisfied and very loyal clientele. With its air vents indicated on the C-pillar, the so-called 'gill coupe' is probably the most sought-after variant of the entire series today. Particularly well preserved examples of the Rallye Kadett Coupe are coveted by Opel enthusiasts today, but are also extremely rare and very hard to find.
