As a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and tractors, Eicher advertised in the 1950s with the slogan For the farmer a sure pledge: tractors and implements from a single source. Thus, in 1958, Eicher GmbH from Forstern in Bavaria introduced the first tractor model in its so-called predator series, the EM200, also called the Eicher Tiger. Its two-cylinder Eicher EDK2 engine produced 25 hp and positioned the Eicher Tiger above the Eicher Panther, which was presented at the same time.
