Originally developed as an 'Universal-Motor-Gerät', the Unimog was, to begin with, intended exclusively for use in agriculture. Mass produced from 1949, this true jack of all trades was very quickly adopted in agriculture, forestry, in the military field and for local authority tasks. Initially produced at Boehringer GmbH in Göppingen, production was transferred to Gaggenau in 1951. Since 2002, the Unimog range has been manufactured in the Daimler-Benz utility vehicle factory in Wörth. Equipped with numerous functions, the Schuco metal model to a scale of 1:32 represents a Mercedes-Benz Unimog 1600 that, with its rather angular design, was introduced in 1974.
The vehicle models of the Schuco EDITION 1:32 series are made of die-cast metal and very impressive due to their finely detailed components, as well as numerous moving parts and functions. The model prototypes are generally agricultural vehicles.
