The Italian tractor manufacturer Lamborghini Tratori was founded in 1948 by Ferrucio Lamborghini, the later founder of Lamborghini Automobili, in Pieve di Cento in northern Italy. After the early 1970s, Ferrucio Lamborghini concentrated more and more on the production of his exclusive sports cars. SAME took over the tractor business from him in 1973. As a result of this of this takeover was the launch in 1978 of the Lamborghini 1256 DT, which was largely identical to the SAME Buffalo 130. 1256 DT appeared on the market.
