Steam locomotive BR 24, DB, Ep.3 with tender 2'2'T26

Tender locomotive 24 061, DB, epoch 3, Wagner wind deflectors tender 2'2'T26

BR 24 - Prototype

Built from 1928 to 1940, the Class 24 locomotive was largely identical in construction to the Class 64 tank locomotive. Boilers, cylinders, engines, wheelsets and many other parts were interchangeable. The two-cylinder superheated steam engine with Heusinger control drove the second coupling wheel set. On the flat, the machines could haul a 350-ton train at 90 km/h. Originally, all locomotives had Wagner wind deflectors, but at DB they were replaced by Witte wind deflectors on many locomotives.

BR 24 - the model

In the model, it is the same as in the original; many parts are identical. That's why, after the BR64, we are also reissuing the popular BR 24. And for the first time also in two interesting variants that we have not yet offered. The DB variant with the small Witte wind deflectors and the loner 24 061, which the Göttingen test institute equipped with a tender 2'2'T26, which could store almost twice as much water and also allowed reversing at 80 km/h due to its rear wall of the driver's cab.
This locomotive model also impresses with its rich equipment and - like all Lenz locomotives - with the faithful detailed representation. Equipment of the BR 24 in addition to the standard equipment:

  • Decoder with USP and energy storage as well as numerous functions and sound already integrated
  • Noiseless engine control enables smooth, jerk-free running and particularly good low-speed driving characteristics
  • The speed of the motor is determined by an angle magnetic sensor mounted on the motor axle
  • The lamps are equipped with maintenance-free LEDs
  • In digital mode, the front and rear headlights can be switched on and off separately, and the brightness can be adjusted separately from other lights
  • The driver's cab lighting can be switched separately from the headlight, the brightness can be adjusted separately from other lights
  • The shunting gear reduces the speed of the locomotive by about half, so shunting movements can be carried out particularly sensitively; Manoeuvring light means that both the front and rear (white) lamps are switched on, regardless of the direction of travel

The new editions

The models are equipped with the Lenz-e.motion drive with the angle magnetic sensor mounted on the motor axle for motor control. In addition, the new models are equipped with a smoke generator with wheel-synchronous smoke output.

We fully test & inspect every locomotive before it ships to you.
