In the Karlsruhe metropolitan area, class 450 tram trains travel on the Bundesbahn''''''''s electrified railway lines as well as directly on the tram lines through town centres in the region. Being dual-system vehicles, they are suitable for operation with the different traction energy systems used by DB AG and tram networks. The model can negotiate curves of radii down to 250mm.
