Euro Rail Hobbies and the COVID-19 Pandemic - Online store open
May 30th: Our order volume is still quite high however order processing times are getting better now that we have some shipping staff back in the store. Canada Post is experiencing minor to significant delays depending on what part of the Canada you reside in. We are seeing minor delays with USPS shipments. Please be patient, especially if your order is arriving via Canada Post.
As you will have noticed in our Latest Arrivals section, some shipments are arriving, however we are still expecting ongoing delays with manufacturers shipping product. Air cargo space is still extremely expensive and very limited as well. We are doing our very best to restock and get backorders and new items in for you during a very challenging time.

May 7th: Thank you for all your orders! We are very busy processing orders and shipping every day! With just Walter and Jan in the store and increased order volume, we are now 4-7 business days behind getting orders out but are working long hours and as fast as possible to get your packages shipped. Both Canada Post and the USPS are taking longer to deliver most parcels now and Canada Post may not be updating tracking on parcels as often. Please be patient if you are expecting a delivery.
We are still facing a difficult task arranging air cargo from Europe so backorders/new products will be delayed. Many manufacturers are also operating at reduced staffing so processing and shipipng is slower at that end as well.
With the rising costs of air cargo and the weak Canadian dollar we will eventually have to add these extra costs into our pricing. It is a great time to order that locomotive you have been saving for before prices have to go up.
April 27th: We are seeing some delays in transit now with both Canada Post and the USPS as they are overwhelmed by the volume of parcels.
Backorders, re-stocks and delivery of new products will take longer than usual due to slow downs at manufacturers and the massive increases in air freight costs and lower availabilty. As always our site shows accurate product inventory and our shopping cart will flag any potential backorders. Stay safe and healthy!
April 9th: We will be closed for the Easter Long weekend from Friday through Monday. We will resume shipping, processing orders and answer calls/messages on Tuesday April 14th.
April 4th: We are about a day behind in processing and shipping orders without our shipping staff in the store. Thank you for your patience as we do our very best to get your orders shipped out as quickly as possible.
March 31st: Due to the shutdown of non-essential businesses to the public last week and our desire to keep everyone as safe as possible, only our owners, Walter and Jan, are presently working in the store processing and packing orders, unpacking shipments, and answering calls and messages.
March 25th: Canada Post has advised that due to the current crisis, delivery time guarantees many not be met. We have not seen unusual delays as of yet but ask that you please be patient.
March 23rd: With the US-Canada border closure on the news we wanted to assure you that our shipments to US customers are still shipping USPS from Washington State.
As the COVID-19 pandemic develops world-wide, we wanted to let you know how the situation is affecting our business and your orders with us.
We are implementing precautionary measures to help protect the health and safety of our staff, their families, and our many customers around the world. EURO RAIL HOBBIES & MORE, Inc. remains open for ON-LINE ordering & processing. We will continue to ship your orders.
As of March 20th, 2020 our retail store will be closed to the public except for local order pickup (by appointment ONLY). We are taking this measure in order to isolate our inventory as much as possible and prevent any potential cross-contamination between staff and customers. We have implemented frequent cleaning and hand-washing protocols in our store, especially around the processes of handling and packing customers orders.
Local customers who wish to pick up your order in store, please place your order online and specify in the comments area that the order is for Local Pickup. Once the order is picked and ready for pickup we will email or call and let you know the order is ready for pickup. Please let us know when you plan to pickup your order before arriving at the store. Orders may be picked up each day we are open between the hours of 1:30 and 4:30 pm.
We are still receiving shipments from manufacturers however due to the extreme reduction in air travel it is becoming more difficult to book air cargo and is taking longer for shipments from Europe to arrive. We ask that you please be patient as we are doing our best to ensure your products ship to you as soon as possible. Some new products will likely be delayed by factory closures in China and elsewhere as well as general disruptions to supply chains. We will update factory delivery timeframes as much as possible to keep you informed.
