Changes to US Shipping via Blaine, Washington - US Customs update - #2

First of all, we would like to THANK EVERYONE for their participation in the 48-hour pre-tariff sale the previous weekend. The response was overwhelming at times and we worked through the weekend to late hours to ensure your packages we’re delivered to US Post prior to new US Customs regulations. Again, thank you for the sales and for the heart-felt messages that came in from so many customers. Really incredible.

Sadly, US customs regulations Sec 321, imposed by the current government administration for all global imports has not been repealed, leaving the world with suspended GlobalPost shipping to the US until a solution is found. This came in to affect, August 29^th, 2025.

What this currently means for our US Customers?

1.     With the suspension of Section 321, all shipments entering the USA, will require formal customs clearance, i.e. via Fed-Ex or UPS or DHL or Canada Post Brokers. They in turn will assess any duties and/or taxes involved prior to release. The buyer, is of course, is responsible for these charges.

Note: Marklin, USA will be shipping our US Customers directly from their warehouse in Missouri, so you will not have to worry about current backorders or submitting new Marklin/Trix & LGB orders with us.

2.    Canada Post – they are updating their systems to accommodate the new  US Customs regulations. Their new system will access a brokerage fee; duties & taxes that must be paid for prior to a shipping label being created. We are currently working with Canada Post to implement this into our systems.

3.     We are still looking at US Post shipping options, but this will require more investigation. We will keep you posted.
