The steam locomotive class Ty2 of the Polish State Railways were in use from 1942 on. These were war locomotives of the class 52 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. After World War II, 1.207 locomotives of this series remained with the PKP. Until the end of the steam traction period, the Ty2 was the largest locomotive series in Poland. Several locomotives of this series have been preserved to this day.
