Various changes, especially to the toilet facilities, later led to various sub-designs. The first route on which the new wagons were used was the Leipzig-Chemnitz line, which was declared as a RegionalSchnellBahn (RSB). The locomotive used here was the BR 232. With progressive closures at the DR and replacement by railcars, the cars also came to offices in the old federal states. Most of the time they were used with the control cars of the Bybdzf 482 class, which were converted from 1995 onwards, in push-pull service with CFB. In the former DR area, the BR 112, 143, 219 and 234 were used in particular for this purpose. Many were taken over by the Hungarian State Railways. At DB AG, Eisenach-Halle is one of the last routes on which the "long Halberstadters" are used.
