V 60 Era 3: The new edition

There are always opportunities to improve something. We took this opportunity with the new edition of the V 60 and revised and optimized the drive. Since several V 60s were often in shunting operations in your freight area and / or train station in the prototype, we now have three models with different company numbers - so you can implement heavy shunting traffic with our V 60 true to the prototype without having to change company numbers yourself.

Equipment of all Lenz gauge 0 locomotives and traction vehicles

All Lenz gauge 0 locomotives set standards in terms of equipment, functionality and authenticity, and have unique options:

  • Mixed construction metal / plastic
  • High performance motor
  • remote controlled, automatic coupling
  • Constant light
  • Direction-dependent light change
  • Spring buffer
  • Metal wheel sets
  • Flange height less than 1.2 mm
  • Automatic detection of Lenz digital (DCC) or conventional DC voltage operation (analog)

The role models

Due to the need for small shunting locomotives, the DB had the V 60 developed at the beginning of the 1950s; Pre-production models were available from Krupp, Krauss-Maffei, Mak and Henschel. The first V 60s were put into service in the mid-1950s and were manufactured by almost all well-known locomotive manufacturers.

Of the almost 950 V 60s built, a good 620 machines with unchanged frictional load were listed in the number range 260 from 1968. Some machines received a reinforced frame and thus a higher friction weight and were given the number 261. The locomotive has been classified as a small locomotive since 1987 and is therefore assigned to the number range 360 or 361.

In the mid-80s, Krauss-Maffei converted the 260/261 to radio remote control (first attempts had already been made in 1962), the series locomotives with remote control were given the designations 364 and 365. The original 12-cylinder Maybach has been replaced by a Caterpillar since the beginning of the 90s. Engine. Most of the locomotives are still in use today.

The models V60, BR 260, BR 360

The models impress with their extensive equipment and - like all Lenz locomotives - with their detailed representation true to the original. In addition to the standard equipment :

For the first time in track 0 : The position of the train driver depends on the direction of travel: if you change this, the train driver changes his position before starting off in the new direction of travel.

Decoder with USP and energy storage as well as numerous functions and sound already integrated.

We fully test & inspect every locomotive before it ships to you.
