O Scale Passenger Cars

New edition with effect!

The models not only have changed car numbers, but also a nice light effect: when the interior lighting is switched on, the light flickers like the neon tubes with starters did before. Not all of them start at the same time, each one flickered for a shorter or longer period until they finally did their job of illuminating. Each car already has its own switch-on effect based on its serial number.

This effect is programmable, i.e. you can assign an individual sequence to each car and also set up an individual time delay. The little film gives an impression

Note on the new editions

We were so pleased with how the great light effect works that we did not discover an error in the artwork for two types of cars in the new edition in time. The car numbers for the new cars 41220-03 and 41230-02 are therefore identical to the car numbers for the cars 41220-01 and 41230 that were delivered earlier. The other new editions have new car numbers, see here !

Conversion car 4yg (e) - the prototype

At the beginning of the 1950s, the DB rolling stock consisted mainly of two, three and four-axle Reichsbahn cars. Renewal and expansion were not yet feasible due to insufficient raw materials and capacities. Therefore, the stock of around 20,000 cars was first modernized with the available resources: the result was the so-called conversion cars. From 1957 the 2nd class coaches B4yg were put into service, the 1st and 2nd class coaches followed a year later as AB4yg. The first wagons still received gooseneck bogies, later the Minden-Deutz type was used. The last 4yg were only retired in the 90s. Incidentally, the "e" indicates the version with electrical heating.

4yge conversion car - the models

We bring all three variants of the conversion wagons:

AB4yge: wagons with first and second class, Minden-Deutz bogies
B4yge: second class wagons, gooseneck bogies

BD4yge: second class wagons with luggage compartment, gooseneck bogies

In addition to the standard equipment typical of Lenz , the conversion wagons have:

constant interior lighting, switchable in digital mode
